von Eizelmurld 1937 violin

Submitted by admin on Tue, 02/12/2008 - 18:19.

Inside of this violin is a very small tag.  As far as I can decipher even with a magnifying glass it states "von Eizelmurld".  The third from last letter is very obscure.  It is dated 1937 and is identified as #32 . We cannot really tell if this is a repair label or an original label.  What we do know is that this is a well made violin.  It was made by an amateur who was probably moonlighting.  It was hand made and the maker used very nice wood.

New parts include the pegs, nut, Dominant strings, bridge, sound post, chin rest, tail piece, tail hanger and a new ebony saddle.  The finger board was shaved smooth, varnish was touched up and the violin has been cleaned and polished. Note the co-ordinated highlight on the pegs, tailpiece and tailpin>

If you take time to check out this violin it has some very nice details to it as well as a nice sound. I already mentioned the decorative hardward and the nice wood. The perfluing is nice and straight but what is extraordinary is the bee stings. The are very detailed and end with a long and sharp point.

This violin is not for the mainstream violin buyer. It is made by an obscure but very good luthiery so you will have to deal with others not accepting how good this violin is until they listen to you play it a few times.

If you are interested in purchasing a violin you can send me a message using the contact us form. I prefer to use Paypal for the transaction. Paypal is capable of accepting all major credit cards.
