Stradivarius strad copy 1713

Submitted by admin on Tue, 02/12/2008 - 19:02.

Inside of the violin is a label that reads Copy of Antonius Stradivarius Faciebat Cremona 1713 Made in Germany. That dates it to pre WW II and it is probably over 100 years old.

It is made of nice wood and they tried to do something different with the finish as the "burnt look" is original.

Our luthier did more work on this than he charged for and even with that just about the full price is what it cost us to get the work done on it. The sound is good like all of these old German Strad copies. There is a crack on the top that was not properly repaired by a previous luthier but it does do much to damage the sound of this violin.

So that makes this violin a bargain. For a young student this violin is a great value. You can learn to play on a violin with a sound that is worth twice what this violin costs. I am sure that buying violin this would be cheaper than renting a violin for a year or two and this violin will sound better for your child to learn on. This will allow your child to enjoy their violin experience more and you will still have a violin that will have trade in value should your young violinist want to advance in their music studies.
