Berini violin

Submitted by admin on Thu, 02/14/2008 - 17:31.

Inside of this violin is a label that says "BERINI VIOLIN".  The second line says No. and then it is left blank.  Also left blank is a number where it says Fecit Anno.  There is a sort of 3 leaf clover with B on one leaf, an S on another leaf and L on the leaf on the bottom.  Bernini was an Italian architect, sculptor and artist from what I have researched.

The wood in particular indicates that this violin is made at the turn of the century.  Where it was made is uncertain but our luthier is 90% sure that like so many others in this collection, it was made in Germany.

New parts include the bridge, sound post, tuning pegs, tailpiece, strings and the nut.

Like all of the violins it is set up for classical playing.  It will be a very nice violin for an aspiring student or an nice affordable violin for the pleasure of an experienced violinist.  Everything that can be done to bring this violin back to original condition has been done.  It should  not need maintenance for several years and at that time it should only require string replacement. It has a very nice full sound and tunes easily.  You will like playing this instrument.

If you are interested in purchasing a violin you can send me a message using the contact us form. I prefer to use Paypal for the transaction. Paypal is capable of accepting all major credit cards.
