Buy a Violin for under $1000

Violins priced under $1000 are available for sale from the Mario Cesare collection.

These violins are for beginner violinists. There is a 1/4 size Suzuki violin. There are also many full size violins. They are all set up properly and will serve the purpose of introducing a student to violins with an instrument of reasonable quality and price. The price grouping is almost exclusively between $800 and $1000. Any difference reflects small differences in finish or sound. All are very good instruments for learning the art of playing the violin. All should maintain value for resale to other students or to trade in as you move up in skill and need a better violin.

You will notice the names include "Student violin" and "Beginner violin". The name means very little. As was stated previously they are all beginner violins. Even the Metzo and the Montreal violin are the same. They do not have the same quality of construction and therefore they do not have the sound of the better violins. They are good to begin on so that if you do the things that beginners do to violins, you do not worry about it. They are all set up properly so that you can learn the proper positions to hold a violin and stroke with the bow.

You simply cannot get better priced beginner violins that are of real wood and that are properly set up. New factory made violin are almost 100% plastic. If you are planning to be a serious student of the violin, you should certainly consider learning on a wood violin. You not only learn how to play such a violin but also how to take care of one.
